Hard Rock puts back opening of permanent Bristol casino

Hard Rock's plans for the grand opening of its $550 million permanent casino and resort space in Virginia have hit a delay, pushing back the anticipated debut from July to later in the year. This decision stems from a desire to present guests with a fully operational and complete experience, rather than opening in stages.

The delay, granted for six months, comes as Hard Rock met specific requirements for an extension, including incorporating the temporary casino into the permanent structure and fulfilling financial commitments.

Allie Evangelista, president of Hard Rock Bristol, clarified that the initial July opening was primarily to fulfill regulatory obligations regarding the temporary property's two-year operating period, which would conclude in July 2024. However, the postponement allows for a more comprehensive unveiling, aligning with Hard Rock's commitment to delivering an exceptional guest experience.

The delay doesn't impede progress on hotel construction, which remains on schedule. Meanwhile, the casino is actively recruiting for a variety of positions. Once complete, the project will boast a 303-room hotel with luxurious amenities like a spa and indoor/outdoor pool, alongside a casino featuring an extensive array of entertainment options, including over 1,500 slot machines and 75 game tables.
