The Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) has recently issued fresh directives regarding the reporting of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) proceedings through its Licensee Portal, aiming to streamline the process for licensees.
As per Directive 5 2018 of Malta’s ADR submission policy, all B2C licensees are obligated to notify the MGA of any disputes referred to ADR and their subsequent resolutions. The new guidelines come into immediate effect, requiring operators to furnish their initial reports by June 20, detailing disputes arising in May.
In a recent development, Tipbet Limited had its operator license revoked abruptly by the MGA. Originating in 1995, Tipbet Limited had established itself as one of Malta's pioneering online sports betting entities, extending its operations into Bulgaria, Croatia, Germany, and Macedonia. However, persistent failures in meeting financial obligations prompted the MGA to perceive the operator as facing imminent collapse.
